Hi everyone!
I hope you’ve all had a good start to the week, following a glorious autumn weekend – a welcome change from Storm Callum! I’m sorry there was no blog last week – I succumbed to one of the many sickness bugs going around, and had to abandon work for the latter part of the week – back to fighting fit now though, so back to the Briars Blog!
I don’t tend to plan my blogs in advance (I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing…) but I do usually have an idea of what I’m going to talk about – and at the beginning of last week, I was all primed and ready to start typing about all the exciting royal news that had hit the headlines! I still haven’t got all the excitement out of my system, so if you’re all on board – I’m going to carry on as if it’s still hot off the press.
Although it’s been a week, I’m sure Princess Eugenie and her new husband Jack are still floating on air following such a beautiful wedding day. The wind misbehaved, but I was so pleased the sun managed to shine for them all. Eugenie looked every inch the princess, in such a stunning, and unique wedding dress – a perfect way to encourage and inspire others to show people their scars. The flowers were incredible, the venue was stunning, and as usual, the pageboys and bridesmaids were priceless. And just as we’d all drawn a breath from that celebration, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hit us with another – news of a royal baby on the way. They too seem to be floating on air following the announcement, with lots of smiles and laughter on their tour of Australia – we wish them all the very best, and offer huge congratulations from our team here! I don’t know why it is, but weddings and babies seem to unite us – like it’s a universal reason to smile.
I remember the sheer happiness and excitement leading up to my own wedding like it was only yesterday. It’s funny that ever since that day, I have felt a million times more excited for new brides, knowing how much they have to look forward to on their big day – the dress, the atmosphere – and the soulmate waiting at the end of the aisle. For me, it was a feeling like no other – the start of a new journey. Hand on heart, it was the happiest day of my life – and you could see it was the same for Eugenie and Jack, the smiles on their faces said it all. Weddings are funny old things – so much stress and excitement in one go. I think it’s a way of testing you as a couple – if you can survive the lead up to the wedding, marriage will be a breeze!
2019 will bring happy times to the Briars, as we have our two of our very own brides to be! Beth, our practice manager will be walking down the aisle in May, and Eloise, who is part of our reception team will be tying the knot in August. The excitement levels are rising as the days are ticked off – we’ll all be preparing our livers for a busy couple of months (!) Beth has very kindly agreed to be my model for tooth whitening before the big day, which will hopefully give our patients an insight into the process that happens in between the before and after photos. She already has the beautiful smile she needs as the bride to be – but is keen to make it the brightest smile she can – I’ll keep you updated on her progress! If you’ve got a big occasion coming up, or are just interested in brightening up your smile, give us a call, or have a look at the whitening section of our website. It’s never too early to come in and have your teeth spruced up!

Have a fabulous rest of the week, I think it’s set to feature a lot of sunshine, which makes a nice change for the half term week! 😊
