Hi everyone!
I’m so sorry that once again its been so long since I caught up with you all! We’ve all been quite busy over here at The Briars, and with Easter treating us to all those bank holidays, there’s not really been a good time for me to hide away and catch up with the keyboard! I find blogging a really cathartic, relaxing thing to do, so I really enjoy plonking myself in front of the PC with a cuppa and essentially typing out a conversation with myself – I miss it when I don’t find the time to write it!
For anyone that says they can’t blog – I’ll quote my mother to you – ‘there’s no such word as can’t’ – and you 100% can, anyone can. I find it’s all a creative mish-mash of whatever springs into my head first. If you’ve ever had a conversation with me, this reads pretty much as I’d say it – I think of one thing, another thing pops into my mind and takes over, then I go back to the first thing, which leads on to another train of thought…my brain is exhausting. At least when I write it down I can delete the really rambly bits, and put a little bit of sense into it.
My poor baby is about to put up with 9 months of me, wish him luck!
I hope you all had a fantastic Easter break; I can’t believe we’re now into May! It’s always been one of my favourite months of the year – the evenings are lighter, the weather is warming up, summer no longer seems like a distant memory. It’s also the month I met Richard, and 9 years later, the month we got married – so I’m a big fan!
Our practice manager Beth is soon to make May one of her favourite months too – her wedding day is only 24 days away!
I think once you’ve had your own wedding, you feel the excitement for any bride-to-be a million times more than you ever did before. You remember all the nervous but exhilarating energy that builds up in those last few days, the flutter of butterflies in your tummy just as you take those first steps down the aisle, and then finally that magical moment where you finally say ‘I do’ to the person who makes your world go round. Cliché or not, I remember it being the happiest day of my life – and those memories are still as fresh today as they were two years ago.
Alongside all the team here, Rich and I wish Beth and Ben the most magical wedding day, and the longest, happiest life as a married couple (once you’ve got over all the stress of changing your name on every single household bill and form of ID…that’s the first hurdle)!
With the weather being so beautiful recently, we’ve noticed an increased interest in our tooth whitening treatments, and more people booking in for facial aesthetics. It’s a nice time of year for a bit of a health MOT, now we’ve finally made it out of the months where hibernation in 10 layers of wool is a necessity, and those pesky winter coughs and colds are gone (apologies to hay fever sufferers…I know this isn’t the best time for you guys)!
After the bank holiday weekend, I was desperate to perform my own beauty MOT and I really wanted to paint my toe nails, but I’ve got to the stage now where I just can’t quite reach down to my feet…so I treated myself to a pedicure at a local salon. We’re supposed to be on a big money saving strategy at the moment, but I’m pretty sure I can put tidy toe nails under the branch of pregnancy ‘nesting’ – and if anyone (including my husband) wishes to argue that, I’ll quite happily refer you over to my hormones for a discussion..! I am now satisfied that my toes look glorious, and pleased to report that I am finally in a position to put the flip flops back on!
If you fancy getting on board the health MOT train, a check-up, or just booking in for a chat with one of our treatment coordinators is the best place to start. Treatments such as tooth whitening, while they are quite quick in the grand scheme of things, they do involve us sending impressions of your teeth over to a dental lab, so we have to factor in time for that, as well as the time it takes for your smile to brighten up. If you’ve got a specific event in mind, such as a summer wedding – we’d recommend seeing us at least a month before, so it’s worth getting the ball rolling sooner rather than later!
I hope you all have a fabulous rest of the week, and enjoy the bank holiday weekend – I know we had to wait a long time for Easter, but how nice has this recent cluster of 4 days week been!?
Have a good one, whatever you get up to! 😊
Amy x
